Our Purpose Statement

 Calvary Church exists to...

CELEBRATE the presence of God, COMMUNICATE His love, grace and forgiveness to everyone, CONNECT those we reach in meaningful relationships, help them CULTIVATE a Christ-like lifestyle, and prepare them to CONTRIBUTE to the ministry of the church.

At Calvary Church we believe that the purpose of the church is discovered in the Bible, not invented by people.  We base our Purpose Statement on two scriptures found in the Bible.

The Great Commandment

"Jesus said, 'Love the Lord God with all your heart...soul...and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it.  Love your neighbor as yourself.  All the Laws and Prophets hang on these two commandments."  Matthew 22:37-40

The Great Commission

"Jesus said, 'Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."  Matthew 28:19-20

To love God with all your heart is "WORSHIP"

To love your neighbor as yourself is "MINISTRY"

To "Go...make disciples" is "EVANGELISM"

To "teach them...all things" is "DISCIPLESHIP"
